TODOS JUNTOS CHILDREN’S TRUST
Todos Juntos was set up in Argentina in 2005 as the result of one
woman’s concern for the thousands of disadvantaged children living in
and around Buenos Aires. It is a non profit organization with the prime
aim being to improve the daily living conditions of some of the most
impoverished children living in the outskirts of the city. This is
achieved by supplying the soup kitchens with the necessary equipment
(fridges/water boilers) as well as food supplies, shoes, clothes and
blankets. The charity depends entirely on donations and fundraising
events to finance our activities hence the continuous need to host
events. Fiona Watson (the founder) works tirelessly and mainly alone
using volunteers whenever and wherever she can to keep the costs to a
minimum.
Our primary activity is to provide free dental care to children living in the slum areas of northern Buenos Aires. In 2006 the charity set up the first dental clinic Sonrisa I in
the area of San Martin which now attracts many children who have
problems with their teeth through malnutrition and lack of dental
hygiene. Due to its success, Todos Juntos opened a second free children's dental clinic - Sonrisa II - in 2007, followed by our third clinic - Sonrisa III - in 2009.
The costs for keeping these clinics open amount to £600 per
month, per clinic for the dentists and all the supplies. We are to date the only NGO
offering such care to these children in Buenos Aires and our reputation
has grown as children walk for miles around to visit the clinics if they
are in need of dental care.
As well as concentrating on free dental care, Todos Juntos also supplies free shoes, clothes, blankets and organises Christmas parties and many individual care projects in and around Buenos Aires.
Todos Juntos Children’s Trust was registered in the UK by the
charity Commission in July 2006. Our major sponsor is the Gaucho Restaurant Group who hosted our inaugural fund raiser in September 2007 and continue to support us with regular fund raising on our behalf. We are honoured to have as our patrons: Mr Osvaldo Marsico (acting Ambassador Argentine Embassy) and Ossie Ardiles (Argentinian World Cup player).
Todos Juntos needs financial support on an ongoing basis to keep the three clinics up and running as well as to assist our smaller projects. We are therefore constantly looking for sponsors and donors to contribute to this worthwhile, grassroots charity.
Todos Juntos Children's Trust is a registered charity in England & Wales No. 1115344
